Robert Foulk

Robert Foulk shares his experience with prostate bleeding and the treatment he received from Dr. Peder Horner. The treatment, prostate artery embolization, is an interventional radiology treatment offered at Rose.

The treatment for enlarged prostate (BPH) is a minimally invasive interventional radiology solution. Men first undergo an imaging procedure (either ultrasound or MRI) to determine how blood is supplied to the prostate gland. Our team then accesses the blood flow through a small incision and place a catheter into the prostate artery. Tiny particles are inserted through the catheter to block the blood supply, causing the gland to shrink. This procedure has shown to have fewer sexual side effects and even has shown to improve sexual function.
