Calcium scoring CT scan
If you are at an increased or high risk for heart disease, talk with your primary care physician to see if they would recommend you undergo a calcium scoring CT scan. This scan is a non-invasive, painless test that takes X-rays of your heart and its vessels. The results allow doctors to determine your calcium score, which is a rating of the amount of calcium build up on the walls of the arteries that feed oxygen to your heart. Your calcium score allows your doctor to create a plan to prevent and manage heart disease.
