In-Hospital Care: Perinatal Unit
During pregnancy, hospitalization may be required. To provide the best care for our high-risk moms-to-be Rose Medical Center in Denver has a special 11-bed Perinatal Unit located on the 3rd floor of the hospital. Nurses on this unit are specially trained to provide individualized and compassionate care for expecting moms and their babies.
Support Services for Moms and Families
Experiencing a high-risk pregnancy can bring about anxiety and fear. Our goal is to help you through this difficult time. Through support groups, parent education and extra one-on-one care our team is here for you.
Talented Care Team
At Rose, high-risk pregnancy patients are treated using a team approach. Our mother-baby team is made up of:
- Perinatologists (a doctor who specializes in caring for high-risk pregnancies providing care for both mother and baby)
- Expert neonatologists (doctors with training in general pediatrics and newborn intensive care who care for babies born prematurely or with serious illness) and experienced NICU nursing staff
- Perinatal nurse practitioners
- Sonographers (specialist who uses ultrasound to capture images of the baby in the womb)
- Other staff
We find that a team approach to care leads to the best outcomes. Our goal is to help you maintain your health and the health of your child, while managing any future complications.
