Heart & Vascular Center at Rose Cath Lab Patient Information
The Cath Lab at the Heart & Vascular Center at Rose offers cardiac catheterizations and electrophysiology (EP) procedures. Your cardiologist will schedule your outpatient cath lab procedure. Please plan to come to the hospital at least two and a half hours prior to the start of your test.
Please arrive at least two and a half hours prior to the start of your test and check in at Admissions in the main lobby on the first floor before going to the cath lab.
Please bring your driver's licence, insurance card(s) and copay to Admissions.
Once you have been checked in, you will be directed to the Cath Lab on the x floor. Directions.
Prior to your test day, please contact your insurance provider to determine the amount of copay required for the procedure. Your copay is due at the time of service.
We recommend patients use our free valet parking services located at the main entrance of Rose Medical Center on 9th Avenue near Cherry Street or self-park in the garage located on the east side of the hospital. If you need a wheelchair, please request one from the valet attendant or volunteer at the main entrance.
The length of your procedure will vary depending on what your cardiologist has ordered. Most procedures take approximately two hour for preparation, two hours for the procedure and then four hours for recovery. If a coronary stent or balloon is required during your procedure, you may need to stay overnight. Ablation procedures can take four to five hours and require an overnight stay.
All cath lab patients must have someone to drive them home. You may not drive yourself after a cath lab procedure. Please make arrangements ahead of time to have someone take you home.
