Carrie Carsello, MD, FACS specializes in endocrine surgery. She is originally from Colorado and received her bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University. She then earned her medical degree from Chicago Medical School and graduated with honors as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. In 2011, Dr. Carsello completed her surgical residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. Following her general surgery training, she completed an accredited AAES Fellowship in endocrine surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. She then returned to Albany, NY and served as an assistant professor in general surgery at Albany Medical College specializing in endocrine surgery. Dr. Carsello helped establish a multidisciplinary practice at the Community Endocrine Group, the highest volume endocrine practice in the capital region of New York, caring for patients with a variety of surgical endocrine diseases.
Dr. Carsello returned to Denver to be closer to family and joined Dr. Kimberly Vanderveen in providing exceptional care to our patients at the Denver Center for Endocrine Surgery. She holds Board Certification in general surgery and specializes in surgery for diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. She is a high-volume neck and adrenal surgeon.
Dr. Carsello has presented research presentations on parathyroid hormones and parathyroidectomies. She has been published in Surgery magazine and Journal of the American College of Surgeons.
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Carsello enjoys spending time with her husband, (also a physician) and four daughters.
Her philosophy of care is to provide each of her patients with exemplary care individualized to their unique situation and needs. She believes that it is important to utilize a multidisciplinary approach and use of the most recent advances in imaging and surgical technique to achieve the best possible outcome for patients.
