Rose Medical Center
Denver, Colo. – December 21, 2017 – Rose Medical Center is among the first hospitals in Colorado to earn the prestigious five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Hospital Compare program. Hospital Compare has information about the quality of care at over 4,000 Medicare-certified hospitals, including more than 130 Veterans Administration (VA) medical centers, across the country.
Rose’s achievement reflects its dedication to multiple patient quality metrics, such as how well nurses and doctors communicated with patients; how responsive hospital staff were to patient needs; how clean and quiet hospital environments were; and how well patients were prepared for post-hospital settings
“Patient outcomes and the patient experience are central to the work we do every day, and there are so many factors that go into creating an exceptional patient experience,” says Dr. Meg Austin, Chief Medical Officer, Rose Medical Center. “This achievement reflects the deep commitment by our entire team of physicians, nurses, techs, and all staff to deliver the best patient experience possible.”
Kelli Gibson, Rose Vice President of Quality and Risk Management, says: “Each metric in the Hospital Compare ranking is a measure on which we focus very dedicated work as a team of healthcare providers. We regularly share best practices and identify opportunities for process improvement, and we are always looking to improve outcomes and experiences for our patients.”
“The patient experience Star Ratings will make it easier for consumers to use the information on the Hospital Compare website and spotlight excellence in health care quality,” said Dr. Patrick Conway, Acting Principal Deputy Administrator for CMS and Deputy Administrator for Innovation and Quality. “These star ratings also encourage hospitals and clinicians to strive to continuously improve the patient experience and quality of care delivered to all patients.”
