Rose also has been recognized for the twelfth time as one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® by IBM Watson Health™, a leading provider of information and solutions to improve the cost and quality of healthcare. In 2019, Rose was among an elite group of Everest Award winners within the 100 Top Hospital honorees. Nationally, only 15 hospitals received the Everest Award honor, which recognizes those who rank among the top for rate of improvement during a five-year period.
We also have been named one of the Healthgrades 2020 America’s 250 Best Hospitals, placing our hospital in the top five percent of nearly 4,500 hospitals assessed nationwide for clinical performance as measured by Healthgrades. Further, Rose has continuously earned Straight As from the Leapfrog Group, an organization designed to measure patient safety. Rose is one of only 32 hospitals nationwide to achieve this accolade each year since the program’s inception.
We also are proud to highlight that four of our units were recognized by our international parent organization, HCA Healthcare, for nursing excellence. The Rose NICU was named #1 NICU in HCA Healthcare; and the Stapleton ER, ICU and surgical services-recovery units also were honored by the 2019 HCA Healthcare Unit of Distinction (UOD) Awards.
In 2019, Rose was the first hospital in Denver to earn the HeartCARE Center™: National Distinction of Excellence accreditation, the highest recognition hospitals can receive from the American College of Cardiology (ACC). Our Heart and Vascular Center also achieved the American College of Cardiology’s Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI, the Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation and the Atrial Fibrillation with EPS Accreditation.
HCA Healthcare's Continental Division (which includes Rose's metro–Denver hospital system HealthONE) was named the #1 large hospital system in the United States by IBM Watson Health as part of the 15 Top Health Systems recognition process. And, as the #7 corporate philanthropist in the Denver-metro area, and the only hospital system in the top 10, our hospital system. HealthONE, contributed more than $1.6 million in 2019 and supports over 150 organizations through cash and in-kind donations.

Proud to Be Tobacco-Free
Rose Medical Center is a tobacco-free campus, promoting health lifestyles for our patients, visitors, physicians and employees. This applies inside our facilities as well as outside on our campus.
In July 2006, Colorado joined many other parts of the country by implementing a smoking ban which impacts public places such as restaurants, bars and government buildings. Since that time, a number of Colorado hospitals have followed suit and have converted to being tobacco/smoke free on their campuses.
